Nightfall in the Everglades

February 2, 2010

While in the Everglades last week I spent some time one night demonstrating tecjniques for painting with light. This was one of the images that was produced early on in the process. It was taken on the edge of one of the countless tidal salt marshes that exist in the ‘glades while the full moon was still rising into the eastern sky.

It’s so funny that you post this shot today, Jim. Just last night at our regular Monday Meetup, Jim G. was telling us all about this technique and how you showed everyone how to do it. He also described this particular photo. He was so impressed with being able to see the stars as well.

This would make a great class for you to teach in the future. I can tell you, I’ll attend.

What’s also funny is that Jim G is the person who operated the flashlight for the mangrove swamp shot that I just posted. There were plenty of other shots done with this technique that night as well. I will be posting another example on Friday’s entry here.
