Perfect Alignment

March 2, 2010

As I stood on the front deck at sunset the ship had turned and was facing west as it sailed toward the Gulf of Mexico. The St. Petersburg city skyline was on the horizon and the ship’s position was exactly right so that the sun set directly into the silhouette of the buildings from our vantage point. I rapidly made a whole set of different compositions and exposures of the scene as the sun quickly vanished behind the distant skyline. This is one of several varying compositions that I liked from the set.
