Square Inside a Circle Inside Some Rectangles With a Random Weed

June 18, 2010

This is just one of those seemingly infinite little scenes that can be found just walking around the block by my studio. I took this the other day while working on a lesson with a student. The object was to look for the small compositions within the big picture. It’s a good exercise for training your photographic vision. I never like to hear someone say there’s nothing to take a picture of. There is always something to take a picture of. The trick is to learn to change your perspective and look at the things you normally don’t look at.

I couldn’t agree more, Jim. I like that little bit of green in the shot. It keeps it from looking too mundane and it verifies that it was planned that way.

I also agree with Kathleen, this shot is soooo you!
