Contemplating the Next Brush Stroke

September 20, 2010

Greg Latch was my neighbor years ago where my first studio was located and he is just down the hall from me in the Art Colony now. He paints at some odd hours, usually at night. I was working in my studio last night and when I heard some jazz music wafting down the hallway I realized he was at work. I popped in to his studio to chat for a while and made a quick portrait of the artist at work. I used my favorite head shot lens, an 85mm prime at f/1.9 to achieve the ultra-shallow depth-of-field seen here.
