Late Night in Chaco Canyon

October 18, 2010

After a day of hiking and photographing the ancient Anasazi ruins in Chaco Canyon we made a small fire and cooked some bratwurst and Italian sausages to have for dinner along with some chips and salsa and then we crashed in the car for a few hours. A little after two in the morning we got up and made some exposures of the cliffs and starry sky that loomed above our camp site. We experimented a bit painting the cliffs with flashlights during our exposures. At around four in the morning we packed the cameras and tripods back into the car and hit the road so that we could be in the badlands by sunrise.

These are, without a doubt, some of my favorite of all your NM photos!!! The smaller photo on the left is amazing!
