A Day Without Clouds

November 11, 2010

It’s that time of year again. The time when you can catch the sun rising in the center of the span of the appropriately named Sunshine Skyway Bridge from East Beach at Fort DeSoto Park. I made the trip over there yesterday and was blessed with a cloudless horizon. The last time I made the trek there were some clouds obscuring the horizon and I couldn’t photograph the sun during the moments when it first it cleared the horizon. It did shine out through a slit in the cloud cover for a moment though resulting in the header image that you see at the top of this photo journal. Maybe I will update the header image now if I feel inclined to do the work.

I agree with Kathleen, Jim. It’s a beautiful shot. I also like the color in the second shot. I’m going over there again tomorrow with Chris Daly. Hopefully, we’ll have a few clouds. If not, it’ll look just like the one I shot last week.
